Graeme Wishart Shane Knott and Daniel Patterson (if you can see Daniel) overjoyed at their win in a thrilling game against Ian Cartledge
-----------
The State Triples final was played between Graeme Wishart(sk) Shane Knott and Daniel Patterson a composite side and Ian Cartledge(sk) Darren Kellond and Rob Bowron who hail from the Eaton Bowling Club originally but now play for the Yokine Doggies
----------------
A game that had people glued to their seats once the big game between Anthony Provost and Rod Heaton had finished.
There were many fine ends but generally it was the Yokine boys who were in control and established a lead of 15-7 after about 10 ends.
From that point on Graeme and the boys started to get back into the game but it was mainly Graeme who was responsible for the fightback with many telling bowls when down at the head. Hard to say how many times he either killed or converted the end but we can say it was many many times.
He saved the game when it appeared lost near the end of he game, one miss and it would have been over for he and his team, he was the best player in this game and the difference of winning and losing
It must be taken into account that Ian and his boys played so well and did all that could be done to win the game but it is hard to stop a bowler that is having last bowl and playing with the acurracy that Graeme Wishart was.
After the game I spoke with Daniel Patterson who said he was beaten by Rob Bowron on the day. I also spoke with Shane Knott who said he wasn't at his best for this game.
However it was Shane Knott that won the game when he displaced a Rob Bowron bowl sitting in front and right on the jack on what was to be the last end, moving it off the jack by roughly 6 inches and taking Robs bowl place and that is where it stayed till the end of the game.

G.Wishart (sk) S.Knott, D.Patterson --------------14
B. Axford (sk), S.Alden, D. Von Horn--------------12
The semi-final played between Graeme Wishart and Brian Axford, Simon Alden and David Von Horn was a brilliant spectacle with all players contributing to make the so enjoyable to watch.
It was pressure pressure and more pressure with little separating the sides after a good recovery by Brian Axford's side who came from a 11- 4 deficit to be 11-10 and in with a good chance but it was Graeme Wishart and his running shots that proved to be the difference.
The leads Daniel Patterson and David Von Horn were both fantastic and did all they could to give their side a chance of victory.
Middlemen Shane Knott played very well and played his part as did Simon Alden who gave plenty when the pressure was at its highest.
Who ever said Brian Axford is not a two bowl bowler has certainly got it wrong, he played a briiliant game as did Graeme Wishart
Ian Cartledge(sk) Darren Kellond, Rob Bowron --------15
Nic Reagan (sk) J.Carter, T. Percival --------------------12
This game was the further est away and we were not able see any of the game but it seemed that Ian Cartledge and his rink were in control for the most part leading 9-6, 13-9, 14-9, 15-10 and finally 15-12.
Well done to Nic and his boys to make the semi-finals.
John Carter also made the semi's of the Triple last year so he has capped off a good showing this year after also making the last 8 of the singles. Well done John
