The fours was played under a points system where each player was allocated points according to his place in pennants or his previous history, there were 18 sides involved and the feeling is very good among Club members who are in almost total support of the concept.

Pat Caffell won the fours last year with a completely different side and a very good achievement to go back to back in this new team

His side played very well in the final with Arthur Dolphin who is almost 80 years of age playing very well in his leaders position, while he was having a good game his opponent Don Corbett was also playing a fine game. It was a good high standard battle between the pair .

The start of the 5th end saw the score 5-4 in favour of Pat and his rink. From that time on it a difficult job for Wayne Coffey to keep his rink in the game. Young Garry Lockett was playing particularly well with several telling bowls and he looks assured of a good future in the game
The score shot out to 14-6, 17-7, and finally 24-9.
Steven Scott, the 2011 Novice State Singles winner who hasn't played much this season is also a player that has plenty to look forward to after showing in this final how good he is now and how good he can become.
Pat Caffell was superb all the away thru, playing with deft touch whether up or down and played some absolute belters when converting, a touch of class in his performance this evening.
Skipper Pat Caffell while high in his praise for the game his team mates played, stated that Garry Lockett was the sides best player and we must add that Maurice Hardy the opposition second also gave best on ground to Garry.
SherroI was not able to the bowls played at the other end but what I did see at the closest end the young fellah played plenty of great saving shots when the side was in trouble which shows he has a very good temperament.

Skipper Wayne Coffey tried very hard but the class of the opposition was too much too overcome. Ron Mitchell playing 3rd also gave it his best shot as did Maurice Hardy who has played in yet another Championship final Don Corbett leading was best for his rink with a good leaders game. Overall Wayne and his boys should be very happy to have made the final and the class of the sides they defeated showed they are better than the score indicated
