Anthony Provost and Jamie O`Keefe won the Doubleview Master Pairs defeating Clive Adams and Shane Shaw 15 - 13...
AP and Jamie O`keefe were 6 -13 down, from there there came home with a rush
It was case of 3rd time lucky for AP he was r/u last year 2009 and 2007 He played on both of these occasions with Kyle McIlroy.
Jamie O`Keefe has gone back to back, last year he won with the then W.A's Premier bowler John Goddard. This year he has done the trick with this years premier bowler, AP.
Well done to Clive and Shane to almost win the game, that now gives Clive two runner ups this season, the first was at the Mt Lawley Consistency in September. Shane Shaw was with Clive when they made the semi-final of the State Pairs in 2006/7
Sherro was at the game for the first 6 ends but left after enduring painfully slow play from the players with the exception of AP.
There was to much walking and talking and simply not enough bowls action. I left after 6 ends had been completed and those ends took 75 minutes.
In stark contrast we saw a brilliant fast paced game in the State Pairs this year that was a pleasure to watch
Rules need to be put in place to ensure that the game moves along as most normal games do.
If players want spectators to watch their games then they have to speed up the game.
The 1st semi-final between Clive Adams/Shane Shaw V Daniel Wood and Lance Strahan saw Clive and Shane win 18 - 17
The game could have gone either way toward the end where Lance and Daniel had staged a good comeback to place themselves in with a chance to win the game. These last few ends were of an extremely high standard from all players.
While
there were some great bowls played there was also a very lucky one by Shane Shaw that rubbed off an very short front bowl and found its way to the jack some 2 metres further on when they were down. It was a critical peice of luck for them. However there is not a bowler who hasnt at some stage had some luck in a game.
I didnt see the other semi between AP and Rob Paxton but the game finished early with the score showing 22-13

Some big results in today's games when we see the favourites Daniel Trewhella and Rocket Heaton eliminated from the
event. That honour went to Kalamunda duo Neil Payne and Scott Walker who won a close game 15-12. A very good effort but was not followed up when they went down to the classy duo of Clive Adams and Shane Shaw who have made their way into the semi-final after this impressive win
The now favourites for the event AP and Jamie O`Keefe won their way thru the days play with a crushing win against Tony Krajancic and Alan Erceg then belted Pat Buller and Prickles Thorn into oblivion to make their way into the semi final
Robert Paxton and Radd Anderson won their way thru to the semi-finals
winning both games narrowly. Firstly getting across the line in a tight game to put Peter Ker and Matt Mitchell out of contention then winning a great game against Vic Park duo of James Jaworski and Mike Dinnason who had done well to reach this stage of the event.
This win has set up a tantalizing game against AP and Jamie O`Keefe tomorrow morning. Rob Paxton has a world Indoor ranking and AP would love to have one.
So we have the Premier bowler in WA AP, and the world ranked Rob Paxton locking horns for the first time in the opening game tomorrow morning..
Danger duo Lance Strahan and Daniel Wood have made it thru after disposing of Daniel Brown and Mike Murray. A point of note we have since been informed that Mike and Daniel played John Mather in section play and needed to win that last game by 20 shots.
The score was 3-10 down for Mike and Daniel after 8 ends had been played, they scored the next 15 shots to win the section. Bad news in the next game where they were wiped out by lance and Daniel who followed up on that win and defeated State Singles runner up Luke Richardson and partner Tony Skoric

Down to the last 16 and what a terrific field to see who can come up trumps to be the 2010 Doubleview Master Pairs Champions.
We have three previous winners of this event left in the field, the 2009 Champ Jamie O`Keefe along with Lance Strahan who won in 2006,
both now with different partners and Radd Anderson who I think won this event several years ago.
At first glance the standout combo is that Of Daniel Trewhella and Rocket heaton, however they do not have an easy path path to the final.
Jamie O`Keefe and AP would be second favourites also face a tough road to the final and it must be remembered they have lost a game in section play and only just survived
Interesting combo is Robert Paxton who has a World Indoor rating and Radd Anderson are sure to a difficult combo to knock over.
Clive Adams and Shane Shaw have combined well in the past to play in the semi-final of the State Pairs but if successful run into DT and RH assuming they can defeat Neil Payne who is always a danger and his partner Scott Walker who has shown on many occasions his ability.
